About Benjamin

My journey as a photographer began in my home state of Minnesota, capturing pixelated memories with a Kodak point-and-shoot in hand. In high school, I was the lead photographer and head editor for the yearbook team, and after graduation, I enlisted in the United States Marine Corps as a Combat Photographer. Over the course of my career, I traveled all over North America documenting exercises conducted by the Marine Corps including multinational partner events in Cold Lake, Alberta, Canada, multiple ITX iterations in 29 Palms, California, and was hand-selected to participate in a deployment to Latin America and the Caribbean. I’ve received attention from the Department of Defense, foreign nations, news outlets, multitudes of social media outlets, and personal and professional channels alike.

In 2020, I was selected for a routine humanitarian deployment to Latin America and the Caribbean. It would be the last adventure I would have with the Marine Corps before my contract ended. The Marines of that deployment encouraged my personal and professional growth in the field and challenged me to take my work above and beyond the next level.

Since leaving the Marine Corps, I have moved from Minnesota to
North Carolina to explore new outlets of photography and experience above-zero temperatures in the winter.

I created Northern Sights Media to capture every type of imagery from outdoor industries, product lifestyles, product imagery, real estate, and business, to sports photography, vehicle, wildlife photography, and so much more.
